Cryptography in Cyber security and Network security

Cryptography cyber security is the study of secure communications techniques that allow only the sender and intended recipient of a message to view its contents.

The term is derived from the Greek word kryptos, which means hidden.

Cryptography is one of the most important tools for building secure systems.

Through the proper use of cryptography, one can ensure the confidentiality of data, protect data from unauthorized modification, and authenticate the source of data.

Cryptography can also enable many other security goals as well.

Cryptography is broadly classified into two categories:

1. Symmetric Key Cryptography and

2. Asymmetric Key Cryptography (popularly known as public-key cryptography).
